Bossier High School Class of 1961

50th Class Reunion

May 27 - 29, 2011

Don't miss this chance to see your classmates. Sure we've all changed, but the memories haven't. This exciting weekend will have lots of activities and visits to places to remind you of your past. Renew friendships with classmates you haven't seen or talked to in 50 years (50?!?)

All events for the weekend are CASUAL dress. Rooms are available at the Quality Inn (Airline Drive just off 1-20). To book a room at the special rate of $ 113.44 per night (taxes, etc .. everything included), call 318-742-7890, and ask for the BHS 1961 Reunion group special rate. Rooms are limited, so the earlier you can book the better. .

On Friday evening, May 27, at 6:30 p.m. we will gather at the Bella Amore Ballroom at 1700 Old Minden Road, Suite 37, in Bossier (behind Heart of Bossier Shopping Center) for hors d'oeuvres, (cash bar available), fun, memorabilia, meet, greet and get reacquainted with all your old friends. If you have any old pictures, souvenirs or mementos from BHS you'd like to share, please bring them to add to the display tables we'll have available (please mark or tag your items with your name to help us get them back to you).

On Saturday, May 28, we'll meet at 11:00 a.m. at Bossier High School by the Bearkat to take a tour of the school. Then we'll have a catered lunch at noon in the cafeteria (Bar-B-Cue) and then between 1:00 and 1:30 pm, we will board tour buses (paid for through contributions by some of your classmates) and drive by all of the old places (or at least where some used to be). Let's see if you remember: the Davis Theater, Kickapoo Comer, KoKoMo, The Dump, Holiday Bowling Lane, Country Maid's, Cobb's Barbecue, The Strip, Amber Inn, and more. While we're out, we might even see a movie star around town. Our area has become the 3rd largest producer of movies and TV series in America if you can believe that! The tour will include a lot of new attractions in Bossier City (let's face it, a lot happens in fifty years). We will drive down the beautiful Arthur Ray Teague Parkway along the Bossier side ofthe Red River. If you haven't seen it you will be amazed. We will visit the 15,000 seat state of the art Century-Tel arena, which draws more attendees annually than the Madison Square Garden in New York City. Then on to the newest living and shopping area, "The Villagio", the brand new Bossier Parish Community College, and Cyber Innovation Center. We will arrive at the spectacular "Louisiana Boardwalk" for a shopping, dining and fun destination you could never have imagined for Bossier City. Then the buses will bring us back to the High School to pick up our vehicles so we can go get ready for the evening gala.

At 6:30 p.m. we will return to Bella Amore for a delicious sit down dinner, a good program, oldies music (of course) but not too loud, door prizes, etc. There'll be more time to reminisce and renew friendships and hopefully make new ones. We'll also have a brief memorial for our deceased classmates and teachers.

A payment of $ 70.00 per person covers the complete package including ALL the events and meals. We need to have firm commitments in order to prepay for food and venue. There will be no cashier available at the door; therefore it is urgent we receive your commitments and the $70.00 per person fee in hand NO LATER THAN April 1, 2011, sooner if possible! Also, please indicate when you send in your fee whether or not you wish to take the bus tour. Seating is limited to the first 90 paid reservations (If there is enough interest we may be able to make arrangements for another bus). Send checks and the names of the persons who are going to attend to Donna McGaunn, 1909 Camille Street, Bossier City, LA 71112. Make checks payable to BNS Class of 1961.

If you have any questions call Donna at (318)747-2376

Why don't you get in touch. with somebody you haven't talked with in 50 years?

Don't wait! We are not going to plan a l00th year Reunion.
